Brilliant, The

Kewal and Gulu Anand opened The Brilliant in 1975 as a tribute to their father, who ran the original Brilliant restaurant and nightclub in Nairobi, Kenya. Gulu still runs the Southall favorite along with his son, Shanker, serving Punjabi food with Kenyan influences: masala chicken, chili cassava, dal makhani, roomali roti. Gulu’s daughter, Dipna,is in charge of the kitchen while also running The Brilliant cookery courses and her own restaurant in Fulham, Dip in Brilliant.
