Golden Hind

Britain’s culinary reputation is indelibly linked to fish and chips. The Golden Hind in Marylebone has been serving some of the best for over 100 years. Family run for the last 17 years by Tony Christou, the place serves homemade fish cakes; cod and haddock, brought daily from Grimsby, are steamed or battered and fried in groundnut oil and are wonderfully non-greasy. Greek salads and feta fritters reflect Mr. Christou’s Greek heritage, and the bring-your-own-alcohol policy is extremely generous.
