Hinds Head

Bray, United Kingdom

One of Heston Blumenthal’s three establishments in the once-sleepy village of Bray, The Hind’s Head is not what one might expect of an arch-innovator. The 15th-century pub is quaintness itself, all wood panels, exposed beams and roaring fires, while the food is pure rib-sticking pleasure. Under the watchful eye of chef Pete Grey, this is British comfort food of the highest order, including oxtail and kidney pudding and Hereford rib eye and triple-cooked chips. Perfectly wobbly medieval-style quaking pudding has been on offer since the start.
