Kitty Fisher’s, on historic Shepherd Market, goes against the grain of modern Mayfair. It is diminutive and romantic, all dark corners, flickering candles and Georgian townhouse charm. Alice Massalongo cooks modern bistro classics like smoked cod’s roe with radishes or pork belly and lentils. Rare is the table that does not order the beef wing rib for two with crispy potatoes and a bottle of keenly priced old-world wine from the short reserve cellar.
