La Cova Fumada

This spot is located in the city's Barceloneta neighborhood, but you will need to ask a local to show you where it is, as the door of this former wine cellar has no sign. The fare is the type of tapas you would find in an old sailor's neighborhood: sardines, shrimps, octopus, etc. Their most famous tapa is La Bomba, potato balls of perfect size that can be dipped in either aioli or a spicy sauce. It's always filled to the brim, so expect to put your name on a waiting list.
