Poppy’s

Born and bred Eastender Pat (“Pop”) Newland got his first job at a chippy when he was 13. Now in his 70s, he runs a trio of retro fish-and-chip shops in Spitalfields, Soho and Camden. A classic fish supper means battered cod or haddock and chips doused in salt and vinegar. What else you order is down to preference. Curry sauce? Mushy peas? A pickled egg? A can of pop? Poppies has it all, and wines and cocktails too.
