Sticky Walnut

Chef Gary Usher has crowdfunded his way to northern dominion with his restaurant group Elite Bistros, the original of which is Sticky Walnut, an unpretentious local opened in Hoole, Cheshire, in 2011. Usher cooks bistro fare, but not entirely as you know it. Pork rib eye, for example, gets a salsa macha butter, red cabbage salad and roasted pineapple garnish; and goats’ cheese and pink peppercorn raviolo gets charred green pepper dressing. Sunday roasts, kids’ menus and prix fixe keep the diners coming.
