Sylkar

Sylkar was founded in 1970 by Alfredo and María García. They have been serving one of the best tortillas in Madrid at this traditional bar for the past 50 years. These days, the place is run by their children, Alfredo and Carmen, who are still using the same recipes used by their Galician parents. There are also good croquettes, Russian salad and stewed dishes, such as oxtail or tripe. On Wednesdays in autumn and winter, they serve cocido madrileño. Desserts are good as well, especially the cheesecake and the torrija (French toast.)
